A new volunteer organization
launching later this month called the “Hood Conservatives” says it plans
to promote conservative political principles specifically to
individuals residing in urban areas.
“I grew up and live in an urban area,
in the hood – I’ve seen my friends and even family become trapped in a
cycle of government dependence and broken family units,” founder Cecilia
S. Johnson said. “I started Hood Conservatives because traditional
values and conservative principles will assist these communities in
establishing healthier and more prosperous lives.”

According to Johnson, the organization
will “empower inner city voters through the conservative system” by
focusing on five areas: Education, financial independence, rebuilding
the family unit, entrepreneurship and gun education.

The organization plans to employ an “in

communities, with a focus on engaging Black Americans,” a press release
said.

“Hood Conservatives” say they will host an official launch party on Jan. 16 in Kansas city, selling tickets to the event for $15 a piece.
Featured speakers include Missouri
State Rep. Paul Curtman (R), Missouri Club for Growth Chairman Bev
Randles, among several other conservative individuals.
One featured speaker, Brittney Morrett,
who works at the conservative LIBRE Initiative, told TheBlaze that the
organization will help market conservative ideas in a new way.
“Organizations like Hood Conservatives …
strive to promote conservative principles in a culturally relevant way
to diverse demographics and should be supported by the broader
conservative movement,” she said.
