It is a requirement to get hired for most jobs. It is
required in some states to receive assistance. Requiring the people
responsible for governing our country to pee in a cup and prove that
they are not on drugs just makes sense. No average person could get a
job working for any large corporation without taking a drug test, why
should the people that govern us get away with doing drugs. Really,
there is no reason that they should not be subject to the same rules as
the rest of us.
There have been many congressional representatives and others in
government office in the news lately, for doing drugs. A Huffington Post
poll found that 64% of American citizens are in favor of random drug
testing for those receiving public assistance. Even higher percentages,
62, are in favor of testing members of congress. Republicans are the
ones pushing random testing of welfare recipients. What do they think
about getting tested themselves?
